Summertime Moment: Soft Serve

We stopped for dinner at Chick Fil A the other night.  After dinner, I looked at my summer checklist and realized something was missing:

1.) Spend two weeks on Cuttyhunk Island (check)
2.) Go to beach (check)
3.) Go saltwater fishing (check)
4.) Get tan/sunburn (check)
5.) Rent a sports car in lieu of owning one (check - did not use company funds)
6.) Visit Europe (check - got lucky on that one)
7.) Eat soft serve ice cream (unchecked)

So, we remedied that and Baby Girl helped.

July 4th: George Washington Really Slept Here

We decided to go to Mount Vernon to celebrate our nation's birthday.  The highlight was watching a military drill performed by reenactors from the First Virginia and First Maryland Regiments.









There was an inspection by old George himself.  Not looking bad for 250+ years.



Yes, it works.  Yes, it's loud.





After watching how it's done, Little Guy and Baby Girl fight a tabletop version of the Battle of Yorktown under the watchful eye of Mommy.
