Cotton Bowl Victory! Missouri 38 Arkansas 7

Dad and I headed over to the Cotton Bowl early. We hoped to go to the Mizzou tailgate party in the Centennial Building. That started at 7:30 AM. Yikes! We DID NOT go that early that's for sure! We meandered our way through the Cotton Bowl grounds wondering if we'd ever find the rental car again. As we past a concession booth, Dad saw Pat Summerall looking very lost. We made it to the tailgate party in time to see Truman the Tiger, the Band, the Golden Girls, Chancellor Brady Deaton and the head of the Alumni Association giving a mini pep-rally.

Happened to see Missouri Governor Matt Blunt at the rally holding his little baby and walking around with his wife and security. No, I did not say hi to the governor. After that, it was off to the field. There were plenty of Razorback fans. Arkansas has been to plenty of top-tier bowl games in the last ten years. The last time Mizzou was at the Cotton Bowl was 61 years ago. So, it was a bit intimidating and the fans brought their A game.

Fortunately for Missouri fans, Tony Temple, field general Chase Daniel, Coach Pinkel and his staff and especially the Tigers defense brought their A game.

Plus we had Marching Mizzou!

Truman belted out pushups each time Mizzou scored. Even at the end when he had to do 38 pushups in a row, he never tired. That says something about this season. When I was a student, sometimes Truman seemed to get tired if he had to do 35+ pushups.

When there was one minute left, Coach Pinkel got the Gatorade (OK, I didn't have time to crop and zoom).

Time to take that knee:

The scoreboard tells the tale: Missouri 38 and Arkansas 7. Note: Chase on the Jumbotron.

The celebration begins!

Trophy time! This is where we found out the executive representing AT&T went to Mizzou.

Here's Tony Temple!

With the myriad of candidates running for President, I finally, finally found my ticket: Tony Temple and Chase Daniel! With the Mizzou Defense for Congress!

Happy New Year, Tiger Fans!
